If there is a place where one wants to return, that place is called Estancia La Estela. In addition to being magical to stay in, it is ideal for excursions in the surroundings.
At the source of the La Leona river, on Lake Viedma, is the hull of this particular estancia and its lodge, both called La Estela, surrounded by one of the most spectacular landscapes in Patagonia: Lake Viedma and its glacier and the silhouettes of the Fitz Roy and Torre hills, two of the most difficult to climb in the world.
Touristic and unforgettable, among the activities designed for its visitors are the horseback riding that departs from the ranch and runs through much of the coast of Lake Viedma.
Sportfishing is also practiced by visitors. Along the La Leona River and on the shore of Lake Viedma you can fish for rainbow trout, salmon, and perch.
Equipped with different rafts for rafting, this excursion departs from the ranch house and goes down the La Leona river passing by the rural school. It arrives, after stopping several times, at the famous inn.
Target shooting with a bow and arrow is also practiced every day at the ranch since it has all the material so that the visitor can measure their aim. Safety in the first place and fun for each of the shooters are guaranteed.
Thanks to the diversity of landscapes and trails, mountain biking is highly requested by guests. It is enough to look up and see the amount of land of all kinds to practice this beautiful sport. Circuits designed between hills, sandbanks, and the coast of the La Leona River are ideal to be part of the native flora and fauna of Patagonia for a while enjoying these unique landscapes.
Lovers and amateurs of photography find in this place a true paradise within reach of their eyes. Around the room, there are picturesque corners to enjoy nature and all its manifestations in a harmonious way.
But in addition to all this, staying in this beautiful room is an attraction in itself. The guest house has rooms decorated in the best country style.
The “Matera” located on the La Leona river is one of the most beloved parts of the estancia. This place was designed to serve delicious homemade breakfasts and to delight at night with unforgettable roasts of the famous Patagonian lamb.
The multipurpose room was recently opened. It is perfect to relax by the fireplace after lunch or dinner, play pool, and enjoy a good drink. It has comfortable armchairs, a large library, a games room, a wine cellar, and exquisite decoration in the best Patagonian style, as well as a telescope that allows you to appreciate the faces of the moon at night.
